CNC Bowl

I designed the bowl with consideration of the fabrication process.  I made sure there was sufficient material for cutting while attempting a bowl with a pleasing look.

The basic curve shape was created in the front viewport and ArrayPolar was used to place the curves which were Lofted to determine the solid.

While using Contour to extract the horizontal curves I used the Curve>Mean tool to establish a planer curve between each pair of curves for each elevation.  This allowed me to create solid features used to create boolean differences between horizontal and vertical members.

Although it took a bit of trial and error I found the process to have a number of steps but once I tested each step to ensure I got the desired result it all made sense.  In review I could see how I might increase the accuracy to achieve a better looking bowl skeleton but I accomplished the task.

DEChands Day 2 & 3

I became proficient using the laser cutter continuing to work on my first bowl but was able to work on my CNC bowl project, create a 3D surface design and post out the cnc code ready for the router.

DEChands Day 1

Walked thru Rhino basics and created a solid model.  All is good.
